Technical Meeting Between the Ministry of Tourism and Swisscontact to Review the Action Plan for the Green Hospitality Kampuchea (Green HoKa) Program!
Phnom Penh: On December 18, 2025, H.E. Huot Rithy, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Committee for Clean City Assessment, alongside Mr. Chek Kearun, Deputy Director of the Tourism Professional Training Department, attended a technical meeting with specialists from Swisscontact. The session was coordinated by the Secretariat of the National Committee for Tourism Professionals.
The primary objective of the meeting was to deliberate on the action plan and budgetary framework for the implementation of the Green Hospitality Kampuchea (Green HoKa) program for 2026–2027. This initiative aims to ensure efficiency and sustainability in the development of Cambodia's hospitality and tourism sectors.
It is noteworthy that the Green HoKa program was established to promote "green concepts" through the development of training materials, guidelines, and evaluation criteria aligned with the Cambodia Green Hotel Standard and the ASEAN Green Hotel Standard. The program specifically targets Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) within designated priority provinces.
The Green HoKa program emphasizes high-efficiency sustainable practices, including strategies for food waste reduction, the minimization of plastic consumption, energy management, and the establishment of safe working environments.
