On the afternoon of Friday, 5 December 2025, the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Tourism organized the closing ceremony of the Cambodia Hospitality (HOKA) Basic Barista Training Course and presented certificates to all 13 trainees, including 10 women. The event was presided over by Mr. Cheaun Sereyvuth, Director of the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Tourism. The three-day training course was conducted from 3 to 5 December 2025 at Kunthy Restaurant, Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province.
A total of 13 trainees (10 women) participated in the program, representing owners and staff of coffee shops in Poipet City and Serey Sophorn City, Banteay Meanchey Province. All trainees successfully completed the course and received certificates of completion.
The training was delivered by 3 Barista instructors (1 female), comprising 2 instructors (1 female) from the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Department of Tourism and one instructor from the private sector, representing Koki Coffee Shop in Serey Sophorn City.
The 9 key training modules included:
1. History of coffee
2. Roles and responsibilities of a barista
3. Types of coffee beans
4. Coffee preparation processes
5. Coffee menus and beverage types
6. Use of coffee machines and brewing equipment
7. Maintenance of coffee machines and equipment
8. Procedures for opening and closing a coffee shop
9. Practical coffee-brewing exercises
