On the afternoon of December 12, 2025, Mr. Cheak Kearun, Deputy Director of the Tourism Professional Training Department and representative of the Department Director, presided over the closing ceremony and certificate presentation for 19 trainees. This training course certified participants as National Master Trainers and National Master Assessors in the field of Hotel Services. The course was led by His Excellency Chhay Khunlong, Director of the Tourism Vocational School, and Ms. Ouk Malika, Project Management Officer for the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Cambodia.

The training program was conducted over a period of ten days, running from November 29 to December 09, 2025, at the Tourism Vocational School. Keynote instructors for the course included Mr. Nick Hyland, International Business Development Manager at the William Angliss Institute and Technical Advisor for VST Training, as well as Ms. Ith Sreykeo, Chief of Office for the Department of International and ASEAN Cooperation and an ASEAN Trainer.

During the occasion, the Deputy Director affirmed that this training course contributes significantly to strengthening the capacity of the 19 trainers. It equips them with the skills necessary for developing training plans and conducting assessments in accordance with the Competency-Based Training (CBT) and Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) approaches. Furthermore, the program is aligned with the ASEAN Common Curriculum for Tourism Professionals (ASSCTP), which fulfills the spirit of the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals (ASEAN MRA-TP).

Concurrently, the certified trainers and assessors will become a vital human capital asset for transferring knowledge and expertise to the next generation of young men and women through quality training programs in the future. This initiative also improves the execution of the Ministry of Tourism's vision and Strategic Plan for Human Resources Development in the Tourism Sector.
